To Win a Prince by Toni Shiloh

About the Book:

Can she stop herself from falling before she’s too far gone?

As a fashion aficionado and best friend of the queen of the African island country Ọlọrọ Ilé, Iris Blakely dreams of using her talent to start a sustainable clothing line to help citizens in impoverished areas and honor the country’s resources. But when she discovers that Ekon Diallo–the man who betrayed her best friend–will be her business consultant, the battle between her desires and reality begins.

Ekon Diallo has lost everything: his princely title, his material possessions, his friends, and the respect of his fellow Ọlọrans. To pay for his actions against Ọlọrọ Ilé, he’s forced to assist the charismatic Iris Blakely–but he can’t allow his heart to distract him from regaining his status.

Though they come from vastly different worlds, Iris and Ekon are both determined to reach their goals, and the only way to do that is to work together–if they can just keep their hearts from getting in the way . . .

My Review:

I enjoyed this book by Toni Shiloh. I liked getting to know more of the characters from her first book in this series. I also loved getting to know more about this beautiful location. I loved Iris and how positive and outgoing she is. I loved how she wanted to make the world a better place for those around her. I liked see Ekon change through out the story especially as he came to know God more. I thought the romance was good and I liked seeing them grow through out the book. I would highly recommend this book.

I received a complimentary book from publishers, publicists, and or authors.  A review was not required and all opinions and ideas expressed are my own.

Interview with Toni Shiloh:

I had the opportunity to ask Toni Shiloh about her book “To Win a Prince”. I really enjoyed this book and I think you will too.

Who was your favorite character to write?

Iris was definitely my favorite character to write. She’s just so bubbly and engaging and I love how often she dreams about the future. I may even identify a little with the heads in the clouds aspect of her personality.

Do you have a favorite scene?

I do have a favorite scene but I don’t want to giveaway any spoilers. Suffice to say when Ekon is walking up a certain hill, I got chills and realized just how powerful his story was.

What are you working on now?

I’m working on revisions for my next Bethany House release. The Love Script is coming August 1st and I can’t wait to share more in the future.

Was it hard coming up with the language?

Yes and no. I borrowed form the Yoruba language, one of the major tribes in Nigeria. Sometimes I altered a word or picked another one that suited my purpose.

Are you into fashion like Iris is?

No! I can’t figure out what designer people are wearing or how cheap/expensive their clothing are. I dress for comfort and my own style.

Anything else you want readers to know about this book and series?

I’ve written a short novella, A Deal with a Prince, that will appear in the Royal anthology collection. This book is set in the same world as To Win a Prince if you’re looking for more fun.
